Building a portfolio of businesses through acquisitions, partnerships and value creation.
From operator to owner, investor and acquisition entrepreneur. More than 20 years inside real businesses, now applying that experience to buying, backing and building them.

The journey
Two decades inside businesses taught me how they actually work, and what it costs when the owner becomes the bottleneck. That is the foundation for a different kind of ownership.
See the full timelineYears spent close to the people making the decisions, banking, investment banking, executive support, startups, hospitality and events.
Five years running the day to day of Lincoln Limousines, a family owned limousine startup, as General Manager. Phones, bookings, sales, marketing, customers and operations, without being the owner.
More than a decade in construction and masonry operations, contractors, cash flow, administration, systems and growth beyond one pair of hands.
Learning to read a business by its assets, relationships and potential rather than by last year's revenue line.
Currently learning and applying deal structure, valuation, negotiation and seller psychology.
The long game: a portfolio of businesses that keeps creating value beyond the effort that built it.

Two decades of running businesses turned into a repeatable way of assessing operations, people and cash flow before a deal is ever signed.

What I'm learning
Credibility built on evidence rather than claims. This is the work in progress, the subjects I'm studying, testing and writing about as I move from operating businesses to buying them.
How businesses are found, assessed, approached and bought.
Terms, earn-outs, vendor finance, control before ownership.
What a business is worth, and to whom, and why those differ.
Preparation, patience, and deals that work on both sides of the table.
Why owners sell: succession, fatigue, timing, life. Rarely only price.
Removing the owner as the bottleneck. Process over heroics.
Leading people who know more than I do about their part of the business.
The shift from earning inside a business to owning the asset itself.
The operator behind the dealmaker
Before acquisitions, there were payroll runs, late invoices, contractors who didn't show, customers who needed answers and quiet weeks that had to be absorbed. Five years running the day to day of a family owned limousine startup as its General Manager. More than a decade building and operating a masonry and construction business. Years in corporate environments watching how decisions were really made.
That is the difference I bring to a conversation with an owner. Not a model, an understanding of what the numbers actually felt like to produce.
The philosophy
Businesses, acquisitions, investments, systems, ownership, scale.
Becoming the person capable of carrying what gets built.
Leaving people better than I found them, starting with the ones nearest.
Why I build
The point was never money for its own sake. It is freedom and choice, the ability to decide where the time goes. It is five children who inherit options rather than advice. It is work that keeps creating value after the effort behind it stops.
I want to leave people better than I found them.
People I've learned from
Listed as influences and learning environments, not endorsements, partnerships or formal associations.
A current learning environment for acquisitions, deal structure and ownership thinking, alongside other business owners doing the same work.
The tradespeople, contractors and small business owners I worked alongside for more than a decade. Nothing teaches operating reality faster.
The executives I supported early in my career, watching how decisions were actually made, and what separated the good ones.
She sold Tupperware brilliantly. Targets, relationships, persistence. I was selling things before I understood what selling was.
Speaking
Not a decades-old keynote career. What I bring is what I have actually lived: operating businesses through good years and hard ones, and the unfinished work of learning to buy, invest and lead at a different level.

Events, panels and rooms where an honest operator-to-owner perspective is useful.
Not offered yet. It will be, once the evidence behind it is properly built.
The Kellie Peyroux Letter

Let's talk
Most of what matters in business starts as a conversation with someone who has actually run one. If any of this is relevant to where you are, write to me directly.
